Why
be a Friend of Brogdale?
It
is a way of supporting the aims of the Brogdale Horticultural Trust,
which is to preserve our heritage of fruit and to introduce to the
public the many varieties of fruit that are rarely or never seen
in our shops.
As a Friend, you will have exclusive access to:
- 3
special Friends days; the Blossom Walk, which is a guided tour
around those parts of the Collection that are then at their peak
of beauty; a summer and an autumn walk, when we look at and taste
the ripening fruits and discuss their merits. We also have talks
on growing fruit by leading amateurs and professionals.
- Free
guided walks at Brogdale.
- A
quarterly newsletter, Fruit News, an entertaining and lively forum
for exchange of experiences, ideas and information.
- Access
to the Friends Fruit Information telephone line, where expert
volunteers will do their best to answer all your questions on
every aspect of fruit.
- Reduced
prices for fruit identification, Brogdale courses and demonstrations.
- Free
entry, for the member only, to RHS gardens at Wisley, Hyde Hall,
Rosemoor and Harlow Carr. Also HDRA gardens at Ryton and Yalding,
plus the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Bedgebury Arboretum.
